About the Webinar:
A reformulation of the mass balance equation makes it possible to measure CO2 assimilation in non-steady state conditions without violating any assumptions. Called the Dynamic Assimilation™ Technique (DAT), this approach allows for faster gas exchange measurements, which can reveal insights into plant physiology and plant dynamic response characteristics. For CO2 response curves, DAT yields higher-density data in less time than steady-state assimilation measurements, which can result in parameter estimates with less uncertainty.

What does this mean for research?
Join graduate research assistant Alan McClain of the MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory at Michigan State University as he describes state-of-the art research investigating the physiological control of photosynthesis at time scales ranging from instantaneous up to 30 hours. His research, which combined dynamic assimilation gas exchange measurements with several other techniques, reveals new insights into the biochemistry of leaves, with an emphasis on the timeline of phosphate limitation.
